Northampton Town vs Blackpool fc match review
In a game of dominance from the seasiders from goals from both forwards yet again with Fletcher getting his tenth for the season and Ennis getting his 5th for the tangerines and Steve Bruce’s side with Goals coming both sides of each half pushing the pool into 10th only just 7 points off the play-offs however the teams above us have games in hands due to the international break but as I say that you have to win those games especially with a big game being next weekend against Horwich which could either write off any chance of the play-offs for the team on the losing side so, hopefully we can recreate last years fixture which is one of the best game i’ve been to in recent years for football and atmosphere.
This game was a sign of the quality that is in this squad with the first goal being a great header from Ash after last weeks howler with a pin-point cross from Apter with Fletch getting his 10th in the league and Apter getting 8 assists in all comps and is showing the class he has over CJ as he can drive the team up the pitch and take on defenders with a sense of quality that we have missed in the past few weeks with us missing out on Bloxham’s powerful runs that drives us up the pitch but happy again to see him get a few more minutes and hopefully can become a crucial part in our play-off push or just a great way to end our season with the whole team operating full steam ahead and maybe with us disappointingly missing out on the play-offs we could see Andy Lyon’s make a return after missing the whole season through injury after being out for the whole year. Whereas after the restart Ennis fought hard after a long ball and made himself a nuisance before going through on goal and slotting it off the post to give the pool a 2-0 lead which was the final score after Steve Bruce’s tangerines dominated and didn’t look nervous of giving away the two goal lead and giving Casey, Baggot and Tyrer another clean sheet for the year which we should build on for the remaining game which should be the best way we want to play especially against Bolton next weekend to keep dreams alive but also putting one of our rivals in their place after Schumacher joined the club; they have been a very good team and will be a hard test for the seasiders.
